The "Jubilee for the sick and the world of health" was celebrated in Rome over the weekend of April 5 and 6. The city was filled with doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and many other health professionals who came to experience the Holy Year.

The program began on Saturday, April 5, with the pilgrimage to the Holy Door and various health prevention activities that took place in the city's squares: teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers and first aid, measuring blood pressure, etc.

The highlight was Sunday's Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the Pope's delegate, who is still convalescing. However, to everyone's great surprise, almost at the beginning of the Mass, the Holy Father was present, accompanied by his personal nurse, for a brief greeting. Sick among the sick, in the homily he had prepared, he said: "With you, dear sick brothers and sisters, at this moment in my life, I am sharing a lot: the experience of illness, of feeling fragile, of depending on others for so many things, of needing support. It's not always easy, but it's a school in which we learn every day to love and to let ourselves be loved."
