FIRST SABBATH DEVOTION

The devotion of the First Saturdays consists of one of Our Lady's requests in the apparition of December 10, 1925 to Sister Lucia in Pontevedra, Galicia. Our Lady appeared with the Child Jesus and, once again showing her Immaculate Heart surrounded by thorns, she said to Sister Lucia: “You, at least, see to it that I am consoled” and explained how to do this: on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, pray the Rosary, spend 15 minutes with Our Lady meditating on one of the mysteries of the Rosary, receive Holy Communion and go to confession, with the intention of making reparation to her Heart. Whoever does this, Our Lady promises to assist them at the hour of death with all the graces necessary for salvation. In each of the communities of the Covenant of St. Mary, a time of praying the rosary and 15 minutes of meditation is offered every first Saturday of the month.
