SPIRITUALITY DAY | LUZEIROS

Every year, during the Lenten and Advent seasons, the Luzeiros de Santa Maria experience a Spirituality Day. These are days of meeting, reflection and prayer where the bonds of friendship between the various groups of Luzeiros are strengthened, where the identity of this movement is deepened and the faith that unites us is rooted.

This year, the Lenten Spirituality Day took place in the south, in the parish of S. João das Lampas (Patriarchate of Lisbon), on March 9. In the north, it took place for the first time in the diocese of Aveiro, in the parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, on March 16.

After being welcomed by Sister Deolinda Oliveira, Asm, who is responsible for the movement, the meeting began with Eucharistic adoration, in which each Luzeiro presented their life to God, with their joys and sorrows, dreams and wounds, to be healed by the Lord.

This was followed by a talk given by Sister Verónica Sousa, asm. This year, when we are celebrating the centenary of the first apparition in Pontevedra, we delved into the theme of reparation, with the title: “Jesus crucified and risen, the great Repairer”. The conference focused on three points: the three dimensions of reparation - seeing, restoring and consoling - its relationship with fasting, prayer and almsgiving, and the reparative action of Jesus in each one of us, the only way to become reparators of our brothers and sisters.

Finally, each Lighter received the Letter for Lent, as well as the “life” of another Lighter, for whom he was invited to pray during this Lenten season.

With a special joy on every face, the day ended with a snack in a family atmosphere.
