To be the seed of hope

In 2026, the annual pilgrimage of the Holy Rosary of Santa Maria returned to Fatima. On September 27, coming from various parts of the country, they headed to the altar of the world to discover that in Fatima our Mother teaches us to be seeds of Hope.

At the start of the journey, each pilgrim received a seed, the “seed of hope”, and was invited to meditate on its meaning. After the Mass in the Shrine, we walked towards the Farol dos Pastorinhos carrying with us a certainty: the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a sign and path of hope. There, in the Formation House of the Alliance of Santa Maria, we shared lunch and the joy of being together.

During the afternoon, the Luzeirinhos took us on a “journey” to September 13, 1917, presenting us with a small theater about that apparition of Our Lady to the three Little Shepherds. Then, Sister Filipa Pereira of the Alliance of Santa Maria explained to us how Fatima brings us a message of hope. We were invited to look at the message of the Virgin Mother and to discover that Christian hope is trusting, even in the midst of difficulties, because we know in Whom we place our lives. How? By anchoring it in prayer, learning the language of Love, living in reparation and following the path that the Immaculate Heart of Mary points out to us.

During a moment of prayer, each pilgrim was invited to approach Our Lady, to offer to Her what was in their heart (their fears, their requests, their joys) and received from Her a word of consolation and two seeds.

The day ended with the consecration of five new Reparation Allies and the consecration of all the Saints of Saint Mary, a celebration presided over by Father António Adinolfi, Reparation Ally of Saint Mary.

We returned home with two seeds in our hands and another in our hearts. The first to remind us of what we have lived; the second to remind us of who we are called to be: a seed of Hope, which always bears fruit when it is welcomed and shared.

We pray that the Immaculate Heart of Mary be the seed of this hope for each of us.
