PRAYING WITH YOUR HANDS II

COR-essential action

In the Gospel, Jesus reminds us that in order to be “great” we have to become like children. Fernando Pessoa wrote: “To be great, be whole: nothing of yours exaggerates or excludes”. When we look at a child in their activities or play, we see so much wholeness in their emotions. If a child is sad or hurt, they cry... and they cry simply, they don't think about what others might think of them. On the other hand, if they laugh, they show their happiness as best they can. Sometimes she jumps up and down without being able to control her joy at the surprise she's been given. The child é!

In this image, we can see two characters who allow themselves to be infected by the same feelings. Nowadays, this is a very difficult task. We impose certain standards on ourselves so as not to break out of the so-called “cordial” standard that society imposes on us and we gradually harden our hearts, not allowing ourselves to feel what our neighbor feels.

Maybe that's why Jesus asks us to be like children.

I call this drawing COR-action, This is precisely because there is an urgent need in the world for each one of us to put our heart into action, not just any action, but into essential action, The love of God, capable of transforming hearts, of uniting distances, even if they are physical. Because the greatest lesson we take away from this life is love.

While I was drawing, I remember good, unique moments with children where, when they are surprised by the presence of those they love, they simply run into their laps and don't look at the obstacles that may stand in their way. They jump in because they trust!

In this image, the figure of the child makes me pray about what our attitude should be. The child, because he loves and trusts the person next to him, lets himself be touched, lets himself be loved because he knows he won't hurt him. Our relationship with Jesus should also be like that, letting him touch us and transform us in his love because he is faithful. It's the great Essential Action. As Little Prince that “what is essential is invisible to the eye” and yes, to abandon our heart into God's hands is to perceive the essential beat of our own heart, which pulses with the sound that gives it life. And this is not seen with an external gaze, but with the insight of the heart that loves, which will end up showing through its clear and genuine gaze, until the mark of His hands is tattooed on our being.
