"We want to be an instrument in the Blessed Mother's hands to generate Christ in each person
"until we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God" (Eph 4:13)"
(Constitutions of the Alliance of St. Mary, 9)
The Aliança de Santa Maria is a Religious Congregation under diocesan law, approved on June 13, 2002, with its founding date being February 2, 1966. In 1966, Maria Clara Vasconcelos joined a first group of women, led by Maria Áurea Soares, who were trying to live a special form of consecration to God in an apartment in Porto.

The Congregation's primary aim is to live a path of holiness in order to unite each of its members with Christ. Inspired by the Message of Fatima, and in the manner of the Virgin Mary, we seek to live in an attitude of service for the Kingdom, so that the "Light that is God" may touch and transform everyone.
